About Size It Up

Size It Up is a size comparison game built around visual estimation, not trivia recall. You never type a number. You judge height or length with your eyes against a known reference — the same skill you use when something looks “about as long as a bus” in real life — then the board shows how far off you were.

The daily puzzle gives everyone the same five silhouette pairs each UTC day. Later rounds count more (×2, ×3). A perfect run scores 1,000. When you want more practice, Unlimited mode draws random pairs from a library of 391 objects. New to the controls? See how to play.

Every object in the library carries a real-world dimension — a length or a height in metres and feet — not an artistic guess. A person is around 1.7 m tall, a family car about 4.5 m long, a blue whale roughly 25 m. When a round starts, the reference silhouette is drawn at true scale against that number, so your eye is being calibrated against a real measurement rather than a rendering convention.

Where sources disagree (adult height ranges, vehicle variants, which pedestal counts on a landmark), we pick a single common figure and keep it consistent for everyone that day. Sizes are approximate educational references for play — useful anchors for intuition, not surveying data. The how-to-play guide explains which axis each round asks you to compare.
